The Report of 19th CPC National Congress proposed that the construction of the ¡°Belt & Road¡± initiative shall be the key point; innovation capability shall be strengthened and open cooperation is encouraged; therefore, an open landscape is performed where the land and oceans are connected and the east and the west are complementary. At present, as the operation of southbound passage is going smoothly, Qinzhou City is also working hard on developing the port through building itself into an ocean-land hub city along the southbound passage of the ¡°Belt & Road¡± initiative. From January to November, Qinzhou Port completed a throughput of 75.47 million tons, rising by 19% year on year; foreign trade contributed 31.29 million tons, increasing by 9.5% year on year; domestic trade 44.18 million tons, growing by 26.8%. Containers completed 1.6 million TEU, jumping by 30.6% year on year, among which foreign trade contributed 375 thousand TEU, rising by 43.1% year on year.

In recent years, Qinzhou has been restructuring and improving transport infrastructure of ports and wharfs to enhance the driving and connecting capability of ports. Furthermore, the government also pays close attention to the construction of ship route of Qinzhou Port, striving to build the Port into a container main route port of Beibu Gulf. The construction of phase I project of Qinzhou Port¡¯s 100-thousand-ton double-direction ship route for containers has started. Qinzhou Port¡¯s 300-thousand-ton branch channel has been completed and the direct ship routes that reach India and Middle East have been opened. As a result, the throughput of port containers at Qinzhou Port is multiplied, and the development of cross-border industry chain has moved one step further.
